A recently reported Year-In-Review of Aerospace America (https://aerospaceamerica.aiaa.org/year-in-review/toward-bigger-and-better-hybrid-rockets/ ), sceenshot is shown as follows, has reported ARRC’s research in hybrid rocket propulsion using cheap and simple ball valve for precise throttling of H2O2/Plastic hybrid rocket engine. The hybrid rocket engine showed in the figure was developed for Quad Hybrid Rocket Engine Levitating Platform (4-HELP). The hybrid motor could generate maximum 60 kgf of thrust and could precisely throttle with an uncertainty of less than 5 percent. Recently, we are focusing on scaling up the class of thrust for other project such as HTTP-3A, which is aimed to launch to sub-orbital spaceflight.
