The citation of Professor We being elected as ASME Fellow:

Prof. Jong-Shinn Wu is a famous scholar in paralleling computing of the DSMC method with unstructured grid topology using MPI and CUDA and several pioneering schemes/implementations in speeding up the DSMC method for modeling rarefied gas dynamics and non-equilibrium gas flow, which is very useful in hypersonic reentry flow, micro/nano gas flow and low-pressure materials processing, to name a few. In addition, he has also championed in parallel fluid modeling for realistic gas discharges, e.g., deposition and etching processes, in modern semiconductor industry, which can reduce the computational time greatly for practical design purpose.
